SUNY Reporting
Four of Cornell University's colleges – Agriculture and Life Sciences, Human Ecology, Industrial & Labor Relations, and Veterinary Medicine – are affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY). As a result of this association, Cornell supplies SUNY with various data on a regular basis. The manuals for two major data submissions, the Course and Section Analysis and the Student Data File, are listed below. The Office of Institutional Research and Planning is responsible for Cornell’s submission of this data to SUNY.
Course and Section Analysis (CASA)
CASA (Course And Section Analysis) is SUNY's faculty instructional workload system, which describes the teaching duties of all faculties for the fall semester. In order to create the CASA system, each campus puts together a file, which contains a record for every section of every course taught on the campus. SUNY uses the data in its BAP (Budget Allocation Process) to determine the next fiscal year’s financial support to the colleges.

Student Data File Manual (SDF)
The SDF manual sets forth specifications for the State University of New York’s Student Data File (SDF) System. This system contains data elements essential to the system-wide administration of the State University to enable the development of important and analytic planning and costing devices.
