Enrolled Student Survey
Cornell has used three survey instruments to learn about the experiences of currently enrolled students. The Enrolled Student Survey (ESS) was created be Cornell and a research consortium of other private, selective institutions. The ESS asks students about their involvement in various academic and extracurricular activities, their interactions with faculty and students, and their perceptions of their undergraduate experience. This survey was administered to all undergraduate classes at Cornell via the web in Spring 2003, and is repeated every other year. In Spring 2004, a special administration of the survey was offered to all Cornell freshmen and sophomores.
The College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ) was administered in Spring 2001 via the web to the freshman and sophomore classes at Cornell.
The Cycles Survey was administered via the web in Spring 1999 via the web to the freshman and sophomore classes at Cornell.
